Compulsive eating is not just about losing weight. It's a debilitating lifestyle issue with serious—deadly—health ramifications. It has all the of trigger issues of normal overeating with the added layers of trauma, abuse, chronic stress, (of which you may or may not be aware) or medical conditions lurking in the back ground.
The result of non-treatment is never good. Heart, Liver, and Nerve damage, with obesity (+60 lbs, 27 kg) as only the most visible manifestation. Shame, guilt, and social isolation come with it..
Compulsive eating and other eating disorders , bulimia nervosa, and anorexia nervosa, need to be handled in conjunction with some form of clinical and/or group help. In these cases Hypnotherapy becomes part of your support team.
Just know this—you can change, even if part of you doesn’t really want to. And I can help, even if you are not sure you want—or need—the help!
I won’t soft peddle it, you’ll need a team. Your team may include some or all of the following:
a Physician—your digestive, cardiovascular, and endocrine systems need to be monitored
a Nutritionist—you’ll need a plan
a Psychologist—trauma, abuse and family issues need to be dealt with by a State-licensed professional.
a Hypnotherapist—for habit change and positive reinforcement,in conjunction with counseling.
a Support Group—provides accountability, sympathy, suggestions, encouragement, and understanding; it takes a decision to start but it takes a tribe to keep going.
It will take effort but it is worth it. I am speaking from personal experience. Not only will you lose weight, you’ll think more clearly, feel and think more positively. Your body will heal. You’ll enjoy yourself in ways you’ve either forgotten or never believed possible. You will rekindle your inner light and you will find the feelings of hopelessness, fear and shame fall away with the weight.
